September 5th,
2003 - Tech N9ne Absolute Power Tour, Columbia MO
"Say
my name five times- Tech, Tech, Tech, Tech, Tech Niiinnnnne!"
is what you heard out of the speakers from the rapper Tech N9ne's
microphone. The show was sold out in Columbia, Missouri at the famed
Blue Note in downtown Columbia. The University of Missouri's town
proved that hip hop and rap is definitely "ALIVE" in the
Midwest. Radio station Y107-KTXY was there doing a live remote interviewing
the hottest acts on the bill that evening such as BG Bulletwound,
Hobo Tone, Dwayne Baldwin a.k.a. Vic Damone Jr., Xta-C and others
not on the bill that have media hype like the group A2Z releasing
their new CD in October.
The lines were around the building at 6pm even though the doors didn't
open until 8pm. Getting the show started the D.J's from radio station
KJLU of Jefferson City, Mo were the hosts for the evening spinning
the hottest RAP music available to you. |

Xta-C
kicked the evening off right immediately stealing the show. He started
off the way his album started of by performing "Gettin Dealt
With" and then a new song featuring Young Twan followed by the
head banger boogie "Who Dat?". Sutter Cane then hit the
floor showing all of the G's, Hustlers and players what "The
walk" is really about. During that time period Xta-Ca ran out
of promotional material to give to the audience, the t shirts, posters
and cd's were gone, but he ended his set on the song that's bangin'
the airwaves in the Midwest..."SO HEAVY".
Once the beat dropped it looked like the scene from a video as every
hand was in the air up and down with the beat and every person in
the audience blurting the hook, "I come through this B---- SO
HEAVY, Four Fifteens in my ol skool Chevy, Foot on the gas, Headed
for the Cash, if you come through trippin' then that's your a--!" |
After the performance
Xta-C did and interview with the radio station Y107 as they were conducting
their live remote. He gave thanks to all involved and let everyone know
that with support he will be at a town near you "So Heavy".
